Make in Nigeria Launches Agrithon 2025 to Power Innovation at the Intersection of Agriculture and Technology
Port Harcourt, Nigeria – As part of its 15th Anniversary celebration themed "The Fusion: A Tech and Agro Fest," the Make in Nigeria Conference & Exhibition 2025 proudly announces the launch of the Make in Nigeria Agrithon- a dynamic Agri-Tech innovation challenge designed to unlock cutting-edge solutions for Nigeria's agricultural ecosystem.
Set against the backdrop of South/South and South/Eastern Nigeria's agricultural richness and rising youth innovation, the Agrithon invites startups, students, and technology innovators to showcase breakthrough solutions addressing real-world agricultural challenges ranging from logistics, storage and processing, to financial inclusion, market access, and land utilization.
The Agrithon is scheduled to culminate in a live pitch at the Make in Nigeria Conference & Exhibition on September 26, 2025, bringing together government leaders, tech pioneers, investors, and agro stakeholders to spotlight the next generation of Nigeria's Agri-Tech champions.
"This is not just a hackathon, it is a movement to transform the Nigerian agriculture industry through innovation," said Uche Onochie, Convener at Make in Nigeria Project. "We are looking for solutions that are not only tech-driven but also scalable, inclusive, and deeply rooted in solving critical problems in our food systems."
Call for Applications Now Open
The application portal is now live, with submissions closing on August 15, 2025. Eligible participants must be between 18–40 years old, lead startups or innovation teams less than 5 years old, and operate in or impact South/South and South/East of Nigeria's agri-food ecosystem.
Applicants are expected to submit:
- A pitch deck (10 slides max) or A 2-page concept note
- A 2-minute video pitch (optional)
Winners to Receive ₦1 Million Prize and Mentorship Access
Finalists will pitch their solutions during the conference in front of seasoned judges and investors. The winning team will be awarded a ₦1 Million cash prize, as well as mentorship, investor introductions, and fast-tracked incubation opportunities with ecosystem partners.
The Make in Nigeria Agrithon is a central feature of "The Fusion," a landmark edition that celebrates the convergence of technology, business, and agriculture to redefine Nigeria's global innovation presence. Over the last 14 years, the platform has empowered more than 100 startups/SMEs and facilitated the transition of thousands of young professionals into sustainable entrepreneurship.
